MISSRI

MISSRI

Missri is an artist who does not like to talk about him more than he should … he prefers performing! For more than thirty years, we find him associated with many projects, often playing the Banjo, regularly playing the guitar. Then we heard him sing.

Born in Alger, installed in France, he’s fully impregnated with nothern America musical genras, traditionnal music but also some psychedelic rock. Furthermore, after several bands, including Jamasutra, he has pursuied his collaboration with the famous Barry “The Fish” Melton (a Woodstock legend with his band Country Joe and the Fish). He played or recorded with Barry: It’s a Beautiful Day, Country Road Bluegrass Band, Deadicace Grateful Dead, The Misfits, Country for Old man, Geraint Watkins, Paul Tiernan, Panama Red, Banana Lowell Levinger, Gabriela Arnon, Erik Krysty, Danny Vriet, Jay And The Cooks.

In 2020, he presents his ablbum project to Paul Bessone, by just making him listen to some bas qualities recordings with unfinished lyrics. But Missri haves supported particularly Jay Ryan for many years, so, Vogue la Galère was made naturally, with a lot of spontaneity and confidence.
Missri had everything prepared for a while. Everything is inside his head: he just needed someone to give him the oppportunity to be in a studio and to record a first album as a frontman !

In 2021, Juste Une Trace produce MY ZOMBIE GIRL : a humanistic Country Rock album, near Bluegrass and Roots music as psychedelic rock, by Missri and friends. For this crazy project, singer, banjoist, guitarist, author, and composer Missri is surrounded by many artists including Barry “The Fish” Melton. A kaleidoscopic sound journey where we find major influences such as Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Lyle Lovett, or Deroll Adams. Released in 2022.
