A STOP-MOTION video for « JESSE JAMES » (Barry Melton, Robert Hunter) from the album LIVE AT LA DAME DE CANTON.
It was 1969 at the Woodstock Festival, the voice of Barry “The Fish” Melton filled the air over an excited crowd. At the same time Jay Ryan was in the streets of Chicago in the marching band.
It is no coincidence that LIVE AT LA DAME DE CANTON starts off with “Jesse James”, one of the songs co-written by Barry “The Fish” Melton and Bob Hunter. Robert Hunter, lyricist and member of the Grateful Dead, had passed away 3 days before the recording. It’s with these memories and some nostalgia that Barry got on stage accompanied by Jay and The Cooks. He pays homage to his friend and you can hear it in his voice.
