Cannibal Penguin is a comic and sarcastic French power trio of fuck metal and punk rock. Although made up of very various tracks, the album Cannibal Penguin Ne Sait Pas aims for an overall coherence around the theme of the unknown, uncertainty and wandering. In an era where many pretend to know and cling to a few ideological, militant or scientific certainties, Cannibal Penguin states on the contrary that it understands nothing and is lost, totally lost… The album aims, through its madness, to translate this feeling. In a zany way, with a good dose of humour, it reaffirms this old ancient wisdom: start by knowing that you don’t know.

To open the album, the “Prologue: tout existe“. We enter into the heart of the matter by starting from the principle that everything is already done, that everything exists. And therefore that all creation is perhaps now meaningless. Then, it is a question of explaining to men what “Douceur feminine ” is in certain women… Then, in a Rage Against the Machine style, the group tells the story of a chicken (“Rappy la poule“) who wants to make a revolution against the “system”. Most of the text is “cot-cot-cot”. A tribute to Trenet’s La Poule Zazou. The album makes waves. So the real world conspiracy is finally revealed, that of the telepathic penguins who control all our actions from their secret base in Antarctica.
The next two tracks are about sex. “Gentleman Fucker” describes various sexual abuses but within the context of a benevolent love relationship and the cover of Herbert Leonard’s grotesque, quasi-pornographic “Quand tu m’aimes” (hit of the 80s). Then comes the time for revolt with “Fuck les trucs et le machins“. A frontal and radical denunciation of everything that is wrong. An inclusive revolutionary song.
Now it’s time to talk about a serious phenomenon: “Le réchauffement climatiqueouais ouais !” (Global warming, yeah yeah!). But of course, Cannibal Penguin makes a joyful inventory of all the positive aspects of global warming.
It was also necessary to deal with the nervous breakdown in Sweden. This is done in “Holidays in Sweden” (will you make it to the end?). As rockers can also be sensitive, they offer us a choral ballad inspired by humanitarian songs such as “We are the world” or “Singers without borders”. But this time, it’s about fighting against forgotten e-mail attachments. And in order to look good and make a good impression in a smooth society, “SOS Pièce jointes oubliées” is the first single from the album. Then comes the incredible “Le chemin de heidegger“. Never seen and even less heard, or how to get Heidegger through in an original Black Sabbath atmosphere. It’s time, finally, to close the album with “Perdu totalement perdu“, a poetic and dada conclusion about wandering (which could be endless).
Pay attention to the four sound bites inserted between the tracks. They will allow you to decipher more fully the metal and punk tragedy that is offered to us.

All proceeds from this album are donated to the fight against the telepathic penguin conspiracy.
