Delirious politicians, stupid attentants, ecological dramas… Bishop Delatourette wonders in “This is my life” why life is so difficult? Why do you bother dieting? or in “Let our bodies rot”, would Jesus’ body still be consumable today, his drinkable blood and his biodegradable body? On politicians in an “ideal world” where politicians would finally end up in jail when they have to, normal, what. On radical religious in “Love religion and sodomy” by reshaping them to the image they really deserve. And on Monsanto and others in “Let Our Bodies Rot” that mess up the living. And yet, the BAGDAD Rodeo look like awful pacifists, dirty gauchos, bleros, hippies demagos but fuck you! Shout it to you (“An Ideal World”) and ask themselves questions about the legacy we will leave to our children.
if the lyrics are funny, they are also and above all acerbic, incisive and biting. They denounce the flaws of today’s society, the corruption of the elected (burning news), the supporters of the Manif pour tous, religious fanaticism…
BAGDAD Rodéo is an excellent rock band with sharp guitars, between punk and hard-rock. He cleverly takes up the torch of the Trust and Bérurier Noir of yesterday who combined whistleblower lyrics and quality music.
