LE DERNIER COMMUNISTE ON ALL SCREENS

“Le Dernier Communiste” by Bagdad Rodeo is like a nightmare filled with riffs, nods, and candid lyrics. In this track from “QUATRE – L’ALBUM SANS FIN – PART.1“, everything hits hard, including hammer blows to our consciences, all with the raw, provocative energy that defines the band. Here is a caricature of the abandonment of Marxist ideals and class struggle, set in a quirky, festive, and colorful atmosphere. A nearly premonitory track, written by Christobal Sanchez Del Rodéo and MGR Delatourette, just before the last French legislative elections in the summer of 2024. An independent, alternative rock song that now reflects a trend for some to veer right, even dangerously close to the edge.

The video clip, directed by Bertrand Boissimon, presents a unique and ironic vision of today’s society. Through a character, “le dernier communiste,” Bagdad Rodeo questions power dynamics and the role of ideologies in an era dominated by money. True to its offbeat style, the band also includes humorous elements, such as the presence of Vladimir Spoutnik in his own role. Vladimir Spoutnik is a colorful character: “50% crooner, 50% DJ, 50% comedian, and 100% mustachioed,” he never ceases to surprise with his versatility and unique charisma. A consummate performer, reporter, or true Master of Ceremonies, Vladimir Spoutnik captivates wherever he is and whatever he does. His magnetic presence and inimitable style make him an essential figure in the underground scene and the ideal feature for this new Bagdad Rodeo video. He is the last communist, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-fascist, and he feels alone.

To add a twist, the extras in the video are none other than the guests from MGR Delatourette’s recent wedding, naturally exploited on that day for budget reasons—a clever touch of self-deprecation that echoes the themes in the song. A playful nod to the reality of independent production, always marked by resourcefulness and creativity.

With its sharp guitars and biting lyrics, “Le Dernier Communiste” invites reflection on today’s world while unleashing an irresistible musical energy. In a rebellious spirit, Bagdad Rodeo challenges conventions with a track that combines political engagement and social critique, all without taking itself too seriously.

«TWO» BY BAGDAD RODEO FINALLY REPUBLISHED

Purist and conformist ears, go your way because it is TWO of BAGDAD RODEO: a real nugget! The album originally released in 2012, sold out for more than 10 years, is finally available again.

The comic tone and rejection of political correctness are omnipresent. The lyrics are little jewels of acid humor inspired by reality. There are on this rock album compositions and atmospheres very different but each time very accurate and impeccably made.

Among the themes addressed by the group, the gender relations stand out particularly, especially in the provocative title «J’aime pas les Filles». In this song, the ladies are depicted with a biting irony: “always eat light, make a mess of their weight when summer approaches” and “only think about getting married like all their girlfriends.» Men, for their part, are not spared: “atrophic brain and a dick to decide”, “a pair of balls well attached and a left hand to scratch them…”. The great Bagdad Rodeo!

Throughout the album, Bagdad Rodeo also addresses various themes such as the life of a couple (“Le Couple Idéal”), religion (“Mon Pote Jésus”) and the harms of smoking (“L’Homme Avec La Cigarette”). Every piece, whether it’s dancing on the edge of dance (“Quand Je Serai Mort”), or flirting with metal (“Bagdad Rodeo”, “Le Nouveau Millénaire”, “La Balayette”), pop, rockabilly, country or punk, Reveals an impressive musical richness and diversity. The guitar and ravaging riffs dominate, accompanied by many bruitages, interventions of piano, brass and choirs.

The realization of «DEUX» was entrusted to François Maigret (guitarist of No One Is Innocent), guaranteeing a production that sublimates the irreverent and energetic spirit of the group. “DEUX” from Baghdad Rodeo is available since October 11. (Re) Immerse yourself in this uncompromising rock universe and let yourself be carried away by powerful melodies and incisive and timeless lyrics.

little gift for you :

CO2NARD, THE MAGIC WORDS

Bagdad Rodeo, the band whose sarcasm is as sharp as guitar riffs, unveils its new single and clip, “Co2nard”, from “Quatre – L’album sans fin – Part 1”.

In a world where the oversized ego and the race for likes reign supreme, Bagdad Rodeo delivers a musical uppercut with “Co2nard”. The lyrics, as subtle as a blow of mass in a porcelain of China, explore with delight the Kafkaesque universe of the influencers and their obsession for emptiness, nothingness.

«I spend my day doing selfies» sings Bishop Delatourette, offering a scathing observation on the life of social media stars, whose depth is equivalent to that of a puddle after a shower.

Targeting digital narcissists, Bagdad Rodeo strips the superficial layers of entertainment to reveal the cynicism behind it. “Selling my mother for knacki-shaped lips,” they say with humour as black as coal.

In this new trend where the good meets the bad, even the very bad, Bagdad Rodeo refuses to remain passive. Co2nard” is a call to action, a formula for all those who refuse to see society sink into darkness, greed and egocentrism.

Bagdad Rodeo, known for his outspokenness and commitment, does not hesitate to denounce this drift in “Co2nard” and thus invites the public to join them in their fight against this new form of social parasitism, where real talent is relegated to the background in favor of manipulation and superficiality.

Bagdad Rodeo still does not make lace, and “Co2nard” is the ultimate proof. Prepare to laugh, reflect, and question your own selfies.

REVOLUTION VENDETTA ON VIDEO

BAGDAD RODEO presents the video “Revolution Vendetta”. A hymn to resistance and freedom. This incisive title is the first extract of the album “Quatre – L’Album sans Fin – Part 1”.

“Revolution Vendetta” stands out for its bold words and rebellious energy, bearing the characteristic imprint of BAGDAD RODEO. The words of Bishop Delatourette and Christobal Sanchez del Rodéo testify to an unwavering determination to remain true to oneself despite external pressures.

“Still alive, still there,
Not ready to walk,
Not ready to shut my mouth in front of you
I won’t bend, I won’t change
The rodeo will win
Revolution vendetta, fist raised in front of you”

The video was directed by Bertrand Boissimon, in the cold, perhaps in the east. The sobriety of the images contrasts with the energy of the title. The quality of the photography is undeniable. Simple, raw, authentic: real rock that spoils. With words like “I’m not dead, you won’t get me”, BAGDAD RODEO refuses to submit to the norm and continues to claim its identity.

“Revolution Vendetta” is a direct response to the current challenges of society, a call for perseverance and the defense of fundamental rights. The lyrics embody the vision of BAGDAD RODEO, a militant group that takes you on a rodeo of social satire and caustic humor.

“The fight is more relevant than ever, and BAGDAD RODEO will always be ready to take part. The exile is over…” says the group.
